Just wanted to let you know that I picked up a lightspeed Zulu headset after seeing your review. It is working nicely. The noise reduction is a great step up from the old ( as in original 1999) Dave Clarks that have served me so well over the last decade.

I find the weight difference from my old set to be amazing! As a flight instructor I do a lot of flying so the investment in my hearing health will be worth it.

I tried on both the Bose and the Zulu and I think the Zulu is the right decision for me. I will definitely be purchasing within a month.

I fly an average of 33 hrs a week flying pipeline patrol. All of that flying is in a 182, so it's noisy all the time. the Lightspeed Zulu ANR headset is worth it's weight in gold to someone who actually flies more than an hour or two a month. Overpriced, maybe, but to those of us who fly for a living, and want to be able to still hear 20 years from now WITHOUT hearing aids, it's a different story.

In addition to being in a flight club and access to more traditional aircraft, I fly a very LOUD LSA with a Rotax 503. I tried just about everything to get a good noise canceling mic. (it's easy to get comfort on the earphones) The Lightspeed Zulu headset by far beats the DC and Bose X headsets I tried. In fact I can make bluetooth cellphone calls from my noisy cockpit and people can barely tell I'm in an airplane.

The comfort of the headset depends on the individual. Trying on headsets is like trying on shoes. One that is comfortable for me may not be comfortable for you. Nobody can give a review and tell you that you will find the headset comfortable, it is too subjective. I find both the Bose and the Lightspeed Zulu very comfortable. Which one is more comfortable for you? Well, I can't answer that. Only you can.
